1. What This Policy Covers
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies NIRE HQ Limited ("NIRE", "we", "us") uses on nirehq.com and app.nirehq.com, why we use them, and how you can control them.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, for example, keeping you logged in or measuring how many people visit a page.
We also use similar technologies including:
- Local storage, browser-side storage that persists after the tab is closed, used to preserve your session state
- Server-side session tokens, HTTP-only cookies used to authenticate your session securely
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking the core functionality. Under UK GDPR and PECR, these do not require your consent.
| Cookie / token | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-[project]-auth-token | Supabase authentication session token for Fund Manager accounts. Keeps you logged in. | Session / up to 7 days |
nire_assessment_session | Stores the secure token that links you to your Founder Assessment. Required to complete and return to your Assessment without an account. | 30 days |
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies improve your experience but are not essential.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| MFA session state (local storage) | Remembers that you have completed multi-factor authentication in the current session, to avoid repeated challenges on the same device. | Session |
3.3 Analytics, Vercel Analytics (cookieless)
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our service. Vercel Analytics does not set any cookies and does not track individual users across sessions or between sites.
It collects aggregated, anonymous metrics, page views and navigation patterns, using server-side signals. No personal identifiers are stored on your device or associated with your browsing activity.
Because no cookies are placed and no personal data is collected, Vercel Analytics is exempt from the consent requirements of the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
3.4 Third-Party Cookies Set by Stripe (Founder Payment Flow Only)
When you visit a page containing a Stripe payment element, Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention and to maintain session continuity during checkout. These are set by Stripe (stripe.com), not by NIRE, and are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies We Do Not Use
We do not use:
- advertising or tracking cookies;
- cookies that track you across third-party websites;
- fingerprinting or other persistent cross-site identification techniques;
- Google Analytics or any other analytics tool that sets cookies.
5. How to Control Cookies
5.1 No Consent Banner Required
We do not require a cookie consent banner because:
- our analytics tool (Vercel Analytics) is cookieless and collects no personal data, and
- all other cookies are strictly necessary for the service to function.
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), consent is only required for non-essential cookies. Because we set none, no banner is presented.
5.2 Browser Settings
You can control or delete cookies via your browser settings. The links below explain how for the most common browsers:
Disabling strictly necessary cookies (authentication and assessment session tokens) will prevent you from using core features of the service.
5.3 Vercel Analytics
Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and cannot be opted out of via a cookie preference. Because it collects no personal data, no opt-out mechanism is required under UK law. If you wish to understand more about what Vercel collects, see Vercel's Privacy Policy.
6. No Consent Banner
Because NIRE only uses:
- strictly necessary cookies and tokens required for the service to function, and
- cookieless analytics (Vercel Analytics) that collect no personal data,
no cookie consent banner is required for visitors to nirehq.com or app.nirehq.com under PECR.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies, or when legal requirements change. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes (e.g. adding a new analytics provider) will be notified by updating this page and, where practicable, by email.
