The problem we saw
Every year, thousands of founders walk into pitch meetings without knowing how investors are actually evaluating them. They polish decks, practice answers, and still get passed on with no real feedback. VCs move on. Founders try to guess what went wrong.
On the other side, fund managers are spending hours every quarter chasing portfolio companies for KPI updates, rebuilding slides for board packs, and reviewing deal flow that was never investment-ready. The tools available to them are either too complex, too expensive, or too generic to fit how early-stage funds actually work.
We built Nire to close that gap. Structured information for founders before they pitch. Live portfolio visibility for fund managers. And a connection between the two that means the deals reaching investors have already been through a genuine filter.
Why Nire
Nire is Erin spelled backwards. Erin is the founder's daughter. The pink in the brand is her favourite colour. We wanted the company to carry something personal, because the problem we are solving is personal too. Founders put everything into their companies. Fund managers are responsible for their investors' capital. Neither deserves to be working with bad information.

James has worked across some of the UK's largest organisations as well as high-growth ventures, giving him a first-hand understanding of how both sides of the capital table operate. He holds a Masters in Business and Personal Coaching and leads product and technology at Nire.
